The person behind the work
About me
I’m Joe Hosman, a hands-on technology leader and architect with thirty years of industry experience. I turn customer needs and business workflows into software, automation, and distributed systems.
My career has included creating and commercializing Ticket Attendant, owning the technology operation of a SaaS business serving about 500 customers, leading a development team as it grew from 7 to 14, and designing enterprise document automation. I work across architecture and implementation, with a deep C#/.NET background and experience in Azure, GCP, and AWS.
Beyond the day job
My interests span process automation, machine learning, woodworking, mechanical engineering, and art. My projects include a multi-camera bird-call monitoring pipeline using BirdNET, a Git-backed multiplayer narrative game, and a published Godot RPG where equipment behavior comes from supervised neural-network training.
I also experiment with a Docker/Kubernetes home lab and Raspberry Pi sensors, mentor a team of Godot developers, and volunteer in high-school technology mentorship and competition judging.
Background
I hold a BS in Electrical Engineering from DeVry University. My continuing study has included remote coursework in AI, machine learning, computer vision, and fuzzy logic through MIT and Stanford programs.
This site brings those threads together: a record of my career, the projects I take on, and what I learn along the way.
